Juma KEYER1 - s/w release

Postby ok1rp » 25 Jul 2014 09:08

Hello,

maybe it's a bit out of interrest over here but I would like to know if somebody though about the Juma KEYER1 new s/w release.
If I understood well it is really nice option/feature for Juma radios (TRX-1 and TRX-2) but there is only Iambic A / Curtis A mode implemented in the current 1.0. and 1.01. s/w version. As I know lot of operators prefer the Iambic B / Curtis B mode instead of A so it will be really nice improvement for this little kit.

Thank You for any kind of info or ideas.

Hello all,

I was asked by few friends to quickly remember the differences between the iambic A and B modes...
As it can be found on the internet on many pages there it is...

The difference between mode A and B lies in what the keyer does when both
paddles are released. The mode A keyer completes the element being sent when
the paddles are released. The mode B keyer sends an additional element opposite
to the one being sent when the paddles are released. The original Curtis chip is
mode A - the WB4VVF Accu-keyer is mode B. You can tell the basic difference
between the modes with the letter C. In mode A you could squeeze both paddles
(dah before dit) and you would let go of both after hearing the last dit. With
mode B, you start the same BUT let go of both paddles after hearing the second
*dah*.

So the idea is to implement the iambic B to the keyer in order to allow "B" operator use it
comfortably ... even on the many different radios and not Juma only. Then it can be very
useful kit for many of other constructions.
